Visit at a local olive oil mill
The visit will start with a tour of the modern olive oil mill, where the guest will discover all the machines with their uses. He will learn all the different olive oil current production processes, from the harvest to the final product.
The visitor will continue the experience with a professional tasting of the extra virgin olive oil locally produced. He will understand how to distinguish all the strengths and weaknesses, he will learn how to recognise the real extra virgin olive oil and to combine it while cooking.
The second part of the visit will be located in the hypogeal olive oil mill of the 1700s. In the past, it was a place of worship of byzantine origin, while today it is possible to admire all the historical places left in their original state, as the ancient mill or the big fireplace.
It will be described all the antique production phases of the olive oil used before the 900’s.
